“the three-year-old label has become known for its subtly luxurious fabrics as well as its understated and classic yet still somehow edgy cuts.”

The Row. One of my favorites.

I know this is thrown out  a lot but being able to be classy and also modern is something S&F is all about!  We strive to use overlooked items and turn them into treasured artifacts.

Sweeet Sounds of Sunday

Why hello there! We are kind of one day behind because some of the fluffers were celebrating a fluffer’s birthday in vegas this past weekend! We were too busy oooing and ahhing at Aria hotel designs! But don’t fret our dedicated followers, we are still here to provide you with good music :)

The Pakistani Bride.

The Pakistani Bride. The possibilities. The colors, the jewelry, the shoes, the food, etc. It sounds so wonderful but also can be a hot mess. The problem is that brides get so excited with all the colors and don’t realize that too many vibrant colors can clash!

Here are some tips on colors and outfits that will make your Pakistani wedding just perfect!!

Try to stay with a 1 toned dress…or if you want another color, use colors that compliment each other.  Two colors are the limit! Too many colors throw off the eye, and you lose the beauty and simplicity of a bride.

Don’t go overboard with jewelry! We know your mom has been saving up on your gold jewelry sets since the day you were born. Tell her nicely that you want a nice simple jewelry set that matches your dress but doesn’t take over your dress! I have seen gaudy gold jewelry sets ruin beautiful dresses. LESS IS MORE!! TRUST ME!!

Keep your Mehndi simple. Keep it traditional! Mehndis are supposed to be simple and modest. This is where you should be relaxed and prepped for your big day! Don’t cake on makeup on your Mehndi day! Try to stay hidden too. It gives the wedding day a lot of suspense!

Trust your mama… at the end of the day you and your posse will be so happy with you!! xoxooxoxooo

It's Color Palette Wednesday! {2-17-2010}

“The show ended with a quartet of ethereal, unraveling, rather beautiful white dresses that alternately called to mind quinceañera parties, corpse brides, and, if you wanted to look at it through a really dark prism, the ghosts of the victims of Juárez’s drug wars.”— style.com Rodarte

DIY Valentine's Day Card

image

Sometimes, you’re just feeling crafty. Sometimes, you’re feeling sentimental. And dare we say it—but sometimes, you might just be feeling thrifty.

Either way, here’s a DIY on how to set up your very own Valentine’s Day card! Print one, make two, give some to friends, or just that special you-know-who!

Be prepared for some major scrolling!

1. Print: download the PDF and print. (Before you do, set “fit to printable area” not “shrink.” I would recommend using a nice cardstock (a pack can easily be purchased from a local office supply store)

image

2. Supplies: Here I have a cutting board, an exacto knife and spray mount. Glue stick and scissors could work just as well—but I like precision :)

image

3.  preparing to fold hot dog-style, align the crop marks vertically (hold it up in the light to make sure the crop marks on the back)

image

4. Using a clean ruler, lightly press your ruler on the fold away from you towards the outer edge to make a clean and precise crease. Make sure to hold down the aligned crop marks!

image

5. Do the same on the other side. Center to top, and Center to bottom.
6. Repeat the steps for the sandwich-fold. Align, fold, burnish for sharp crease.

image

7. Nice! Almost there!

image

8. Use your crop marks to align your ruler and cut each side—sandwich fold first, then hot dog fold.

image

10. Clean edges! :)

image

11. Turn your paper over and lightly mist the sheet 12” away from the paper (cover your nice table or floor when doing this, it gets sticky). NOTICE: you may want to be smarter than me and do this in an outdoor area or near the window—the chemicals are not good for you!

image

12. burnish burnish burnish! smooth out all the air starting from the inner crease and working your way out towards the edges of the card.

image

image

13. Congrats! You’re done! Get creative with add-ons like ribbon, glitter, or candy (mm…candy).

If you’re card doesn’t turn out 100% the way you like, make sure it accompanies some premium sweets. May we suggest Sprinkles? Red Velvet Cupcakes? Anyone? Anyone? Beuler?
