DIY Valentine's Day Card

Sometimes, you’re just feeling crafty. Sometimes, you’re feeling sentimental. And dare we say it—but sometimes, you might just be feeling thrifty.
Either way, here’s a DIY on how to set up your very own Valentine’s Day card! Print one, make two, give some to friends, or just that special you-know-who!
Be prepared for some major scrolling!
1. Print: download the
PDF and print. (Before you do, set “fit to printable area” not “shrink.” I would recommend using a nice cardstock (a pack can easily be purchased from a local office supply store)

2. Supplies: Here I have a cutting board, an exacto knife and spray mount. Glue stick and scissors could work just as well—but I like precision :)

3. preparing to fold hot dog-style, align the crop marks vertically (hold it up in the light to make sure the crop marks on the back)

4. Using a clean ruler, lightly press your ruler on the fold away from you towards the outer edge to make a clean and precise crease. Make sure to hold down the aligned crop marks!

5. Do the same on the other side. Center to top, and Center to bottom.
6. Repeat the steps for the sandwich-fold. Align, fold, burnish for sharp crease.

7. Nice! Almost there!

8. Use your crop marks to align your ruler and cut each side—sandwich fold first, then hot dog fold.

10. Clean edges! :)

11. Turn your paper over and lightly mist the sheet 12” away from the paper (cover your nice table or floor when doing this, it gets sticky).
NOTICE: you may want to be smarter than me and do this in an outdoor area or near the window—the chemicals are not good for you!

12. burnish burnish burnish! smooth out all the air starting from the inner crease and working your way out towards the edges of the card.

13. Congrats! You’re done! Get creative with add-ons like ribbon, glitter, or candy (mm…candy).
If you’re card doesn’t turn out 100% the way you like, make sure it accompanies some premium sweets. May we suggest Sprinkles? Red Velvet Cupcakes? Anyone? Anyone? Beuler?
