Classic European fashion is all about very standard and basic colors and simple accessories.

The pink dress, again showed her tiny waist and the slits on the sleeves gave one a peak of her arms. The accessories needed to be timeless and bold, yet not steal the attention away from the beauty of the model; Pearls, gold, and little pops of color.

We had the pleasure of being featured on Ruffled today! Check out the blog for details and inspiration for the shoot.

The shoot was inspired by classic European elements; farmer markets to Rembrandt paintings that captured composition and transformed common items around the house into art. We experimented with new ideas of rustic statement pieces and centerpieces of today’s dining contour. Our inspiration for the flowers was inspired by the painting “The Bouquet” by Jan Brueghel.

This shoot was a portrayal of young love, much inspired by the timely tale of Romeo and Juliet, two star crossed lovers from rival families forced to conceal their relationship.

Anna Sui’s lookbook of 2009, Levi’s “Go Forth” campaign and Rodarte’s Fall 2011 really inspired the style with a raw, layered bohemian look.

Invitation design was inspired by the mechanism of the “magic wallet.” I loved the concept of forming some sort of leave behind after the invitation was read and used. Menus followed the stationery suit with colors of gold, white and espresso.

The raw simplicity was transgressed through the table setting and into the centerpiece, which focused on an aesthetic of found, simple organic objects.

The florals were interlaced with our ombré wheat runner to add a bit of neutral color and detail. Hand dyed fabric repeated the color on the washing line in the background and further implemented the idea of a simple summer romance.

The shoot depicts simple style with symbolism of an intimate summer romance through stylized treatment of organic and overlooked items.

A lot of hard work went into this shoot and a big thanks to Jose Villa for shooting such amazing pictures for us :) You can see more pictures on the awesome blog of 100 layer cake too! Part 1 and Part 2
