1960s Inspired a walk in the park shoot
Months ago I stumbled upon a picture of Alfred Hitchcock’s The Birds that got my attention. I knew I wanted to do a shoot inspired by the colors ( greens, blues, yellows and magenta ) and the whole imagery of that time period. Here is the story enjoy:
Amanda Daniels is a modern socialite in the 1960s who always gets what she wants.
She decides to take a break from her hectic life and have lunch in central park with her young daughter Melanie. She drives about two hours away from her home to the city. Soon after her arrival, the birds and other surroundings start to act strangely. Strange but beautiful things start to occur. There is no explanation as to why this might be happening. Something unusual, something unexpected, something extraordinary.
Invitations were inspired by the St. Patrick Cathedral of New York. We used ideas of the art deco time period but didn’t want to go too extreme with it. via

Newspapers and literature were very big in the 60s…so we grabbed the concept of a newspaper with a bridal announcement but with colors that tied in with our shoot. via
We wanted to offer fresh ideas to details and branding for weddings. The 1960’s culture had a big boom with film and television and Breakfast At Tiffany’s was one of our other big inspirations for this shoot. One of the most memorable moments of Breakfast At Tiffanys is when Audrey Hepurn is walking by Tiffany’s with her greek coffee cup. The concept of personalizing a cup was what we wanted to bring to the photo shoot. Looks pretty rad huh? via
We took double complimentary colors with shades of magenta, yellow, green, and blue. The 60s also introduced the first color TV so we really wanted to use a lot of jewel tone colors that would pop out from the washed out desert backdrop. via
We really wanted to make sure that every prop and piece of clothing we used tied in with the 1960s. No detail was forgotten. I wanted the shoot to look as if the whole set up was literally set up in 1962 and was sitting there for us to shoot ;) Everything tied in so well from the colors of the flowers to the model’s lipstick. Even the slight desert sand that was blowing on the flowers made a great touch to the whole shoot.
This shoot of course could not be done without the help of Richelle Dante and Abi Q photography. We all got together last year and wanted to create a shoot for WPPI that would blow people out of their mind. I will never forget numerous text messages back in forth with our flea market and ebay finds. We had such a great time at the shoot and want to thank everyone that participated and took great pictures for us.

Ruche Bridal Lookbook on Green Wedding Shoes
We are so grateful to be part of this. S&F had the opportunity to help design and coordinate this shoot for Ruche’s new bridal line. Green Wedding Shoes blogged the sneak peek of the look book on Monday. You guys have seen nothing yet! The rest of the jaw dropping look-book pictures will be up next Monday. So excited to show the rest but I hope these amazing shots will do for now :)

If you don’t know who these awesome people are…Jessica is a type goddess and you can see her amazing work here. Russell (aka strange native) is a web genius and you can see his work here. They both have done some cool projects together like this.
They are both so inspiring to us and we know this is going to be such a fun and amazing experience. Can’t wait to get this started!!

Classic European fashion is all about very standard and basic colors and simple accessories.
The pink dress, again showed her tiny waist and the slits on the sleeves gave one a peak of her arms. The accessories needed to be timeless and bold, yet not steal the attention away from the beauty of the model; Pearls, gold, and little pops of color.
